Lifecycle exercise bike earns international design honor |
Good Design Award recognizes Life Fitness’ 95Ci for form, function and innovation
FRANKLIN PARK, Ill. – March 1, 2004 – Life Fitness, the leading manufacturer of a full line of cardiovascular and strength-training equipment, is pleased to announce that its 95Ci Lifecycle exercise bike has earned a prestigious Good Design Award from The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design.
“We are honored that our premier commercial Lifecycle exercise bike has been given this distinguished honor for its exceptional design,” said Kevin Grodzki, president and chief executive officer, Life Fitness. “Life Fitness understands that first impressions are important and fitness facilities need their members to have a positive response to seeing, as well as using, their machines. So together with Cesaroni Design Associates, we developed a dynamic look that incorporates a mix of contemporary colors with custom angled tubing to deliver an outstanding product that will contribute to the overall style and ambience of fitness facilities.”
The Museum’s Good Design program was founded in 1950 by pioneers of American and modern design and is one of the oldest and most important design competitions in the world. This year, the Museum awarded more than 200 Good Design designations in categories including automotive, electronics and household appliances. The products were judged on form, function and innovation.
The 95Ci will be part of the Good Design Show/Exhibition April 3 through June 13, 2004, at The Chicago Athenaeum: Museum of Architecture and Design, 190 South Roselle Road, Schaumburg, Ill.
